Hukeseho Lwangosia Women Group

Hukeseho Lwangosia Women Group is a community-based organization founded in 1992, by a group of women in Lwangosia, in Buyinja sub-county of Namayingo District to address the challenges of maternal and infant mortality which were rampant. Hukeseho is a membership organization which currently has thirty-four members from Buyinja sub-county. It is also a member of Namayingo Network of AIDS Service Organizations (NANASO) an umbrella network that coordinates AIDS Service Organisations in Namayingo District. Hukeseho is registered with Namayingo District Local Government as a community-based organization.  It is also registered as a company limited by guarantee. To improve maternal and infant mortality, the organization put in place a health unit with funding from the European Union Development Fund. In collaboration with Namayingo District Local Government, Hukeseho is involved in sensitizing communities on HIV & AIDS and carrying out campaigns on malaria and fighting against child immunisable diseases among others.
